"Moreno Valley, along with everything else, would be for sale to keep Valley Health System viable," said Dr. William Cherry, board treasurer. "Basically, everything we have is for sale."
Cherry said the ideal price for the hospital would be between $45 million to $50 million, which he hopes is enough to pay its $30 million debt.
The facility, Moreno Valley's only private hospital, is outside of the Hemet-based hospital district boundaries. Its location makes it the most viable asset to put on sale, Cherry said.
