Northampton's projected costs for capital projects for 2007 has risen from last year's estimate of $3.1 million to over $9 million due to increases in the cost of a proposed $4.4 million county administration office renovation project, as well as to increases in the projected cost of closing the landfill and building a transfer station there and convenience centers.
The increase also represents the addition of $616,000 to turn the Temporary Housing Unit in the new courthouse complex into a new Sheriff's Office and another $572,000 for a new Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Services building.
