Due to the numerous tax law changes that will impact 2006 tax returns, First Command Tax Services is encouraging taxpayers to start planning now by offering a 10 percent discount to early filers.
In a period spanning just four months last year, President George W. Bush signed into law three major Internal Revenue Code revisions. The new laws “bring benefits as well as consequences to all levels of taxpayers,” said Bob Evart, CPA and manager of First Command Tax Services, a service provided by First Command Financial Planning.
“Because the 2006 changes are so wide-ranging, First Command Tax Services strongly encourages consumers to take special care in their tax preparation and filing,” Evart said. “For those who want professional assistance, we provide a full range of tax preparation services. We start clients off right with our ‘Client Tax Organizer’— a checklist of the items and information we need to prepare tax returns efficiently and accurately. And to encourage early filing, we are offering a 10 percent discount to taxpayers who supply those items and information by March 2.”
Formerly called “TaxCommand,” First Command Tax Services was recently renamed to better align it with the company’s branding of its comprehensive range of services. Online tax preparation information – including an informative Tax Guide, Tax Glossary, Common Errors list, and links to state tax agencies.
