Uniontown City Council on Saturday unanimously adopted a $7.9 million budget that raises property taxes by 4.5 mills to a total of 13.235 mills next year.
When council approved a tentative, $8 million budget in November, the original proposal contained a 5-mill tax increase, but council decided during the meeting to add a half-mill to recall the three firefighters who were among 31 employees laid off in October.
