Keith “Lex” Malas Joins Broadpoint to Expand Debt Origination Effort


Broadpoint Capital, Inc., a broker-dealer subsidiary of Broadpoint Securities Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: BPSG), today announced the hiring in its Debt Capital Markets Division of Keith A. Lex Malas. Mr. Malas was named a Managing Director and Head of Broadpoints Debt Capital Markets Origination Department and will report to Joseph Mannello, Executive Managing Director and Head of Broadpoint Capitals Debt Capital Markets Division.

Mr. Malas began his career in 1988 at Goldman Sachs and Co. in the investment banking division where he ultimately was a Managing Director and Head of Natural Resources Capital Markets. He joined UBS in 2004 as a Managing Director in high yield capital markets where he led high yield financing in the energy, power, and media and telecom sectors. Most recently, Mr. Malas was a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank AG where he managed leveraged financings in energy, power, healthcare, paper and packaging.
