Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Forsyth County (CCCS) has been awarded a grant of $237,132 from the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency (NCHFA) to provide counseling to homeowners to help prevent foreclosure.
CCCS of Forsyth County will use the funds to pay for foreclosure-prevention counseling sessions for homeowners in danger of losing their homes, in 14 counties — Alamance, Alleghany, Ashe, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Iredell, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, Wilkes, and Yadkin. CCCS will hire additional financial counselors as well as administrative staff to meet grant tracking and reporting requirements. Homeowner families will receive one-on-one counseling.
