I RECENTLY had the worst customer care experience from Reliance Communications. It was in the form of snapping of my telephone line (0481 32 55 798, located at Kottayam district, Kerala), which I had used for nearly three years. It is a Reliance Hello phone with internet access. Last month, I used the internet a little more than what I normally used to, and got a bill that was a little above my credit limit of Rs 1,300.
In the third week of December, prior to the normal bill receipt, I received a few calls from the reliance office (in Madras or somewhere near) informing me that the bill had gone beyond my credit limit and asking me to pay a part of the bill so as to keep the amount below the credit limit. I told the callers that I hadn’t received my bill, and the bill date was due. The customer care executives went to the extent of sending a scanned copy of the already generated bill and it showed January 4, 2008, as the last date for payment. So naturally, I had the inclination to pay the bill on or before January 4.
